embrace the grind
At BottleGrind, we turn used glass into something that actually matters. From tossed bottles to powerful solutions, we're grinding it down and building it back up — one bottle at a time.
paving our own path
Our mission is to turn glass waste into meaningful change.
Born in the heart of Orlando’s hospitality community, we’ve witnessed firsthand the impact of storm damage and coastal erosion across Florida. In a state that thrives on tourism and resilience, we believe hospitality should extend to the environment we all share. By transforming an underutilized resource — infinitely recyclable glass — into practical solutions, we aim to serve our local neighborhoods and beyond, by partnering with our local resorts and businesses. We are not just recycling glass, we are reframing the value of waste.
Upwards of 70% of glass bottles ends up in landfills nationally which equates to a staggering 8.9 million tons a year. Orlando alone diverts an estimated 66,000 tons of glass bottles to landfills each year.
one bottle at a time
At BottleGrind, we're tackling two critical issues with one smart solution. By repurposing post-consumer glass bottles collected from hotels and restaurants, we’re improving recycling infrastructure where it’s often overlooked—at the source. These bottles are pulverized into durable, eco-conscious glass sand that fills our RF-sealed sandbags, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional sand dredging. The result? Less environmental disruption, fewer glass bottles ending up in landfills, and a circular product that strengthens both community resilience and coastal preparedness
Sand dredging disrupts natural ecosystems by removing sand from riverbeds, beaches, and ocean floors. This process can cause:
Coastal Erosion – Without sand to buffer waves, shorelines wear away faster.
Habitat Destruction – Marine life and bottom-dwelling species lose their habitats.
Water Pollution – Dredging stirs up sediments, releasing toxins and clouding water.
Loss of Biodiversity – Fragile ecosystems are damaged, reducing plant and animal populations.
Sand dredging supplies an estimated 50 billion tons of sand and gravel per year globally, making it the most extracted solid material in the world after water, according to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
